A+ IN HOME TUTORS SUBJECTS
We tutor all subjects in Elementary school including the Every Day Math program which is used in many school districts. Our tutors make the subject matter motivating, fun and interactive. Based on experience with over 1,000 families so far, the focus for the tutoring sessions is usually on phonics, sight words, basic math skills, reading comprehension and retention, creative writing and penmanship. At this level we also help prepare your child for the standardized state exams which begin in second grade in many school districts. Remember, we tutor from your child's school curriculum, so ultimately we will tutor whatever is necessary - even if it's just homework support or reading with your child to form good habits in their early years.
We tutor all subjects in Middle School including Honors classes and we begin focusing on study skills, organizational skills and test taking strategies. Many middle school students become overwhelmed adapting to different teachers and changing class periods. Our tutors will mentor them in adjusting to change and different teaching styles. Subjects we have tutored in Middle School include all levels of Math, Earth Science, Life Science, Physical Science, Language Arts, American History, World History, Ancient History and more. Beginning in sixth grade, a state Writing Assessment is administered and we can help prepare your student for that, too.
Our focus in High School is on subject matter and being able to apply concepts, not just plow through homework. At no time will a tutor complete homework for a student. We foster independence in students and give them the skills they need to tackle homework and prepare for exams and quizzes.
We tutor all Honors Level classes, AP classes, IB classes and PSAT/ SAT/ACT test prep.
We can also assist with College Essay applications.
If you do not see a subject listed, please call and ask us. We can find a tutor for just about any subject; the subjects listed are the most common.

Many of our tutors are Credentialed Special Education teachers or are graduate students working on their Masters Degree in Special Education and Child Development. We frequently work closely with students who are struggling and need to be taught a "different" way. We will work with your child's IEP goals and assist in any way possible to alleviate the stress and struggles associated with homework. We have found that our tutors become mentors and their students become accountable to them to complete homework, taking the parent off the hot seat and providing a much needed respite for Mom and Dad to focus on parenting and not arguing about school work!
